I. Policy Review: Accelerated Implementation of National-Level Strategies

(I) Domestic Policies

The National Energy Administration issued the Notice on Organizing Pilot Work for Hydrogen Energy in the Energy Sector, which mentioned the establishment of project pilots and regional pilots, focusing on 11 directions including hydrogen production, storage, and transportation, and setting minimum technical indicators. Flexible off-grid hydrogen production was identified as a key direction, with AEM electrolyzer technology emerging as a breakthrough due to its ability to respond to fluctuations in wind and solar power within seconds and operate across a wide temperature range.

(II) Foreign Policies

Guided by the European Green Deal and the European Climate Law, the EU has introduced a series of carbon reduction policies. Among them, the FuelEU Maritime (FEU) regulation, which will be officially implemented in 2025, will accelerate the adoption of renewable fuels in the shipping industry. The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), set to be implemented in 2026, will impose carbon taxes on specific imported goods.

Germany has adopted the National Hydrogen Strategy, aiming to achieve a green hydrogen production capacity of 5GW by 2030.

The US has formulated the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Clean Energy Transition Energy Supply Chain Strategy to encourage enterprises to invest in the R&D of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technologies.

II. Corporate Developments: Surge in Project Signings and Technological Collaborations

Implementation of Large Projects

Sinopec Haide Hydrogen Energy and Shijiazhuang Enric signed a global strategic cooperation agreement on hydrogen production and storage. On the day of signing, the BOP separation system jointly developed by both parties was successfully delivered.

CSSC Pioneer Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. successfully delivered two sets of 250Nm³/h containerized hydrogen production equipment to Linde in Turkey.

Hubei Intelli Electric Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid for the 300 mt/day green ammonia project in Oman for India's ACME Group, with delivery planned to be completed within 2025.

Corporate Collaboration Developments

Hydrogen Rui Technology plans to collaborate with the Bosch Group to overcome technological and economic challenges in large-scale green hydrogen production.

Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. visited the Cangzhou Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone for a field trip on the hydrogen energy test platform project, engaging in in-depth discussions with the local authorities on the project's implementation.

III. Technological Advancements: Breakthroughs in Efficiency and Cost

Electrolyzer Sector

Trina Green Hydrogen: Released MW-level PEM hydrogen production equipment, 10MW alkaline hydrogen production equipment, and MW-level containerized hydrogen production systems.

SPIC Central Research Institute: The hydrogen storage and transportation team of the Advanced Low-Carbon Institute developed a large-diameter (DN150), high-pressure (10MPa) non-metallic flexible hydrogen transmission pipeline, which successfully achieved safe and stable operation for 30 days on a test platform.

Siemens Energy Unveils New Generation of PEM Electrolyzers: The current density has been increased to 4A/cm² (compared to the industry average of 2-3A/cm²), the energy consumption per unit of hydrogen production has been reduced to 42kWh/kg, and the mass production cost has been decreased by 18%.

Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences Breaks Through in Alkaline Electrolyzer Membrane Technology: Develops ultra-thin (20μm) composite separator, enhancing electrolysis system efficiency to 85% (LHV) with a lifespan exceeding 60,000 hours.

Fuel Cell Innovation

Dongfang Hydrogen Energy: Obtains patent for a system that improves air humidity entering the fuel cell stack in the field of fuel cell technology.

Advancements in Storage and Transportation Technology

Kawasaki Heavy Industries Successfully Tests Liquid Hydrogen Carrier: Completes a 2,500-nautical-mile zero-boil-off transportation test of liquid hydrogen (-253℃) from Australia to Japan on its maiden voyage, verifying commercial feasibility.

IV. Industrial Synergy: Accelerating Integration of the Ecosystem

International Hydrogen Energy Standards Organization (IH2A) Launches "Green Hydrogen Traceability Certification"

Collaborates with Microsoft and S&P to develop a blockchain traceability platform, enabling verification of carbon intensity from renewable energy generation to end-use applications, boosting international trade in green hydrogen.

China-Europe Hydrogen Energy Trade Corridor Launched

Ningbo Port, Rotterdam Port, and Antwerp Port sign agreements to jointly build liquid hydrogen handling terminals and a cross-border certification system, with the first pilot green hydrogen trade route of 30,000 mt/year (to be operational in 2027).

US Hydrogen Energy Association (DoE) Leads the Formation of the "Hydrogen Refueling Station Compatibility Alliance"

Unifies the 70MPa hydrogen refueling nozzle interface standard, eliminating barriers in hydrogen refueling protocols among automakers such as Toyota, Hyundai, and Nikola, and promoting interoperability of the hydrogen refueling network.
